Does someone want to fill me in on when Hannah Montana grew wings?

This is certainly different.

  1. She is an odd one. How old is she now like 17? Wow!

  3. It reminded me of a James Patterson book. Well, two series of his, actually. So I kind of like the video. But I'm not a fan of Miley.

  5. It's definitely a valid point. I think the thing to keep in mind though is that kids way younger than her are doing much more than she is. It doesn't mean it's right, it just means that the problem is more with our rapidly changing (not always for the better) society than with her in particular. I always feel awful for teens that have to grow up in the spotlight b/c they see a lot of criticism for things that any "normal" would only get a slap on the wrist for. (Then again, they should know when they make the decision to step into the public eye that fame comes with a cost.)

Wow. I'm putting the soapbox away now...

  6. The video is interesting. I actually like it. And it does remind me of Maximum Ride. Her costume is a bit out there, but I don't mind it.

  7. Paulina: Have you read the series Maximum Ride was based on? The first one is called "When the Wind Blows." It's pretty good too. (Only two in this series.)

  11. As an 18 year old, I would definitely enjoy shooting a video like this. I love the video.
The hardest thing about Miley is that no matter what she does, she will always remain Hannah Montana. That's what Disney does to most child stars. (Like Hilary Duff. Will she ever be more than Lizzie McGuire? No.) She will always have that twang to her voice because of where she was raised, not necessarily a bad thing, but it just doesn't sound right trying to be punky.

  14. I love the fantasy world music is portraying these days. I'm all for Miley Gaga Aguilera and her baby bird wings.

  15. Not gonna lie. If people really start doing crazy things like that with their hair and make up, I'm going to be ecstatic. ;)

  18. It was bound to happen eventually. If you dont try to break out of the mold then you are stuck in it and you end up like Jessica Simpson or Mandy Moore. Stuck in that sweet young image that you have been saddled with.

  19. To answer a question asked: her daddy wasn't on set but her mom was.
She even said in an interview that why would she do something so racy that her mom couldn't see? or so racy that her sister would get made fun of because of it.

She's growing up the only way she knows how. Unfortunately or not for her, she's got the entire world watching her. We all went through phases -- or at least had friends who went through extreme phases. We all also grew up from those phases. The rough part for Miley is to have a peanut gallery judging her on what she's doing.

I don't approve of all of Miley's choices -- but I do root for the girl. I'm a fan of hers and hope only the best for her.
